We are very excited to announce that e-learning has come to the New Hampshire Academy of Sewing! In addition to the one-on-one instruction for which we are famous, The Academy will be offering DVDs on its classes for those who prefer learning in the privacy of their own home and at the convenience of their own schedule. If you prefer (or are unable) to travel to Canterbury for our classes, a DVD may be just right for you. Coming soon - a free class to demo!

In addition to the DVDs that the school will soon be adding, Susan has become an instructor for Destination Sewing, an on-line university specializing in sewing classes.

Welcome to the New Hampshire Academy of Sewing! We offer hands on sewing classes from beginner to professional levels - and everything in between. Are you tired of the cookie-cutter look from ready-to-wear? Are you hard to fit? Do you have fashion ideas just waiting to be released?

ABOUT US

Then a sewing class is JUST FOR YOU! If you've never learned to sew, or if you've been away from your sewing machine for years, take our beginner class.

Do you have some sewing knowledge and want to brush up your skills - perhaps make a specific garment, like a skirt? Try one of our Basics classes. This gives you the chance to make one or more garments, learning fitting and sewing techniques for that garment.

Are you looking for a new career? Do you plan to study fashion design? You need to know how to sew in order to produce your designs! We offer comprehensive sewing courses in two levels. "Garment Construction 101" is designed for students who have less than 5 years' sewing experience. "Garment Construction 201" is for those students who have been sewing for more than 5 years and want to open their own business or simply enhance their skills. These courses are offered in several time formats - contact us to see which is right for you.

We are offering a bridal class for those of you who are getting married, or have a daughter/granddaughter who is getting married ... and you want to make the bride's gown or your own special evening ensemble.

Other specialty classes include alterations; a design challenge class to spark your creativity; and pattern drafting.
